Telangana has scope for Tourism development : Meenakshi Sharma

Hyderabad: Union Tourism Ministry Director-General Meenakshi Sharma today stated that there is huge potential for tourism development in Telangana state.

She made a field-level visit to several places in the state and held a meeting with tourism minister V Srinivas Goud and officials concerned. The official has discussed the plans and development of tourist spots in the state.

Later she informed the media that the chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is taking measures for tourism development in the state. The Centre, she said, will extend all support for tourism development in the state.

State tourism plans and programs are appreciable and we need to focus on further development she said. There is a big scope for tourism development and the Centre will provide the necessary support for the same, Meenakshi Sharma said.

Srinivas Goud informed about the government initiatives for tourism development. He said that Yadadri Temple is being developed on par with Tirumala by spending huge funds. The minister asked her to sanction Rs 50 crore for Venkateshwara Swamy temple development in Manyam Konda in Mahabubnagar district.
