Telangana: Kumaraswamy, Thirumavalavan Join KCR for Breakfast at Pragathi Bhavan

K Chandrashekhar Rao, party president and state chief minister, hosted special guests for breakfast at Pragathi Bhavan on Wednesday, prior to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s crucial general body meeting at the party office.

Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Janata Dal (S) leader HD Kumaraswamy was the first to arrive at Pragathi Bhavan on Wednesday, where he was greeted by CM KCR, TRS working president KT Rama Rao, and Finance Minister T Harish Rao.

Tholkappiyan Thirumavalavan, founder of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, and his Tamil Nadu supporters also went to the CM’s official residence and sat for breakfast with Chandrashekhar Rao and other TRS leaders.

The general body meeting is being held at Telangana Bhavan, where the ruling party’s entire top brass and public representatives are expected to arrive by 11 a.m.

Later, on the occasion of Dasara, KCR and his wife Shobha performed special pujas at Pragathi Bhavan.

The Chief Minister first performed a puja at the Nalla Pochamma temple and then at the Jammi Chettu (tree) in the midst of chantings by Vedic scholars.   During the ceremony, he was accompanied by family members.

The holy Jammi Chettu leaves were distributed to everyone in attendance. Following the event, KCR greeted and extended blessings to everyone before proceeding to Pragati Bhavan for Ayudha Puja.

It is also worth noting that the TRS settled at its foundation day event in April this year that the party should play a major role in national politics in the interest of the country because the BJP is “exploiting communal sentiments” for political gain. The formation of the national party coincides with the rise of the BJP in Telangana politics.

In 2020, the BJP emerged as a major force in Hyderabad civic elections and also won Assembly constituencies in by-polls held in segments such as Huzurabad. As part of the party’s efforts to expand its footprint in the country’s south, BJP leaders have been aggressively focusing on Telangana.
