Telangana Ministers Criticize Congress for Power Crisis and Envy Over 24-Hour Electricity Supply

Ministers G Jagadish Reddy and S Niranjan Reddy launched a harsh attack on the Congress Party leadership, blaming them for the power crisis that afflicted the undivided state before to its division. They accused Congress leaders of being envious of Telangana’s successful implementation of 24-hour electricity supply, particularly in the agriculture sector, during a joint news conference.

The ministers emphasised that Telangana is the only state in the country that provides farmers with free and high-quality power, which has helped to revitalise the agricultural sector. They questioned why Congress-ruled states such as Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Karnataka had not followed similar pro-farmer policies and supplied farmers with free electricity. They pointed out that, despite having extra power generation, Chhattisgarh chose to sell the excess power to other states rather than providing round-the-clock supply as Telangana does.

The ministers emphasised the importance of Telangana’s round-the-clock free power supply to over 30 lakh pump sets in assisting farmers and improving their economic conditions. They disputed allegations of corruption in power purchases, claiming that power purchases are done online and Congress leaders’ claims demonstrate their lack of knowledge on the subject. The ministers also stated that attempts by Congress leaders to check the hours of electricity supply at substations were futile.
