Telangana Plans New Industrial Zones for Sustainable Growth

The Telangana state administration, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has announced intentions to establish new industrial zones in a deliberate move toward decentralizing development and supporting sustainable industrial growth. These zones will be established within a 50-100-kilometer radius of airports, national highways, and state highways.

During a review meeting on Monday, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu directed authorities to identify land unfit for farming or located distant from residential areas. The goal is to reduce the impact on farmers while promoting industrial development.

The proposed industrial zones will be located outside the Outer Ring Road (ORR) but within the Regional Ring Road (RRR) and will encompass an area ranging from 500 acres to 1000 acres. This strategic positioning strives to improve connectivity and accessibility.

Officials were required to produce a full report on the industrial development lands specified, including their current state. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy underlined the importance of prioritizing environmentally sustainable industries. He asked officials to research policies in the Middle East and Europe for developing enterprises that specialize in bulk pharma items.
