Telangana: Private junior colleges to be granted affiliation for five years at once

As per the latest reports, affiliation for three or five years will be available to private junior colleges starting this year. A proposal has been sent to the State government by the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TS BIE) seeking endorsement.

A three- or five-year affiliation may be granted to junior colleges with their own buildings, according to the proposal. Currently, the Board offers affiliation only for one year after receiving applications from private junior colleges.

Private colleges with their own buildings have been proposed an affiliation for three to five years. A government official said the plan would be implemented this year once it had received approval.

Besides the FDR, sanitation and building structure soundness certificates, and fire no-objection certificates from the fire department, the managements seeking affiliation should have their own building or building lease agreement.

Gowri Satish, president of Telangana Private Junior College Managements Association, said that granting affiliation for three or five years will be a great relief for college administrations because they will not need to obtain certificates from different departments every year.

1,408 private junior colleges across the State applied for affiliation with the TS BIE, a decision that was made by the TS Board for Institutional Excellence. The private junior colleges offering general and vocational courses can submit their affiliation forms and submit a late fee of Rs.10,000, Rs.15,000 and Rs.20,000 by May 10, 17 and 24, respectively.

PM Modi credited for funding of Nagarkurnool medical college

Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, in a vain attempt to give credit to the Union government for an initiative fully funded and taken up by Telangana, made yet another blatant claim regarding development for which the Central government has no role at all.

As per the Governor, Narendra Modi set up the medical college in Nagarkurnool in a tweet on Monday, but the Centre did not contribute to either funding or undertaking the construction of the Nagarkurnool Medical College.
