Telangana Reports 1,531 New COVID-19 Cases, Pushing the State’s Tally to 2.37 lakh

Hyderabad: Telangana has recently reported 1,531 new COVID-19 cases which pushed the state’s tally to 2,37,187, while six new casualties bumped the death count to 1,330, as per the health officials said on Friday.

The casualty rate stays at 0.56 percent against the national average of 1.5 percent.

As per authorities, 44.96 percent of the deaths were because of COVID-19, while 55.04 percent of deaths were because of comorbidities.

Over the last 24 hours that finished at 8 p.m. on Thursday, 1,048 individuals recouped from the infection, taking the complete number of recuperations to 2,17,401.

The recuperation rate presently remains at 91.65 percent against the national average of 91 percent.

The Telangana state presently has 18,456 active cases, of which 15,425 are under home or institutional quarantine.

The number of cases in Greater Hyderabad rose again to 293. Its neighboring regions Medchal Malkajgiri and Rangareddy witnessed 120 and 114 new cases individually. Bhadradri Kothagudem, 96, saw 93 new cases, Khammam 83 and Nalgonda 74.

The Director of Public Health has stated that the patients with moderate to serious symptoms, with COVID positive reports or not tested, should go to any notified government COVID-19 hospitals where the government has made elaborate courses of action for testing and treatment.

He stated “Sufficient beds are available in government hospitals. Based on the clinical requirements, beds will be provided and treatment will be given free of cost in government hospitals.”

The government has 18 research facilities leading RT-PCR/CBNAAT/TRUENAT tests and 1,076 fast antigen testing centers.

The bed status in 61 government-operated hospitals treating COVID-19 patients shows that 7,303 out of 8,571 beds are empty.
