Heavy rain hits Telangana

Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Peddapalle, and Adilabad districts experienced extremely heavy rains, while Mulugu, Nirmal, and Nizamabad witnessed heavy to very heavy rains, according to the weather department.

In many districts in the state, low-lying areas were inundated by water.

In Telangana, all reservoirs are overflowing because of incessant rains along the Godavari river. In the Godavari basin, water bodies are almost full.

At a high-level meeting on Tuesday, Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao reviewed the flood situation in the state and instructed irrigation officials to make use of the available water.

In response to the chief minister’s instructions, the irrigation department is now focusing on restoring the levels and planning to release according to farmers’ needs. During the monsoon season, they can cultivate hassle-free, according to a press release

There is no doubt that farmers will receive the water they need as a result of the Sriram Sagar and Pocharam projects in Nizamabad, Swarna, and Kadem projects in Adilabad, and Sripada Yellampalli in Peddapalli, all of which are full to capacity.

The chief secretary Somesh Kumar had instructed the collectors to increase vigilance by setting up control rooms. It has been directed that the Irrigation, Panchayat Raj, Municipal Administration, and Energy departments make sure that rain does not cause any problems.
