Telangana: The new Secretariat expected to be ready by Dasara

As the construction of Telangana’s new State Secretariat complex progresses, a brisk pace is being maintained. It is expected that the entire complex will be ready by the Dasara festival this year, with nearly 70 percent of the works completed so far.

During his inspection of the ongoing works, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao instructed the officials to expedite the work without compromising on quality.

In his visit to the construction site on Tuesday, the Chief Minister walked around the Secretariat buildings to assess the progress of each and every project.

In addition to taking a look at the designs and quality of pillars, concrete walls, staircases, doors, and windows, he also examined the Ministers’ chambers, conference halls, and officer and employee workspaces. The officials were directed to take up all the work simultaneously to avoid unnecessary delays in completing the construction.

When inspecting the walls with red stones obtained from Rajasthan, Chandrashekhar Rao requested special carvings in the stone carvings and suggested changes to the pillar designs.

In order to meet the needs of the security and service staff, he requested special arrangements. He also requested that the lawns and fountains be completed at the earliest possible time along with leveling up the open grounds.

The meeting was attended by Vemula Prashanth Reddy, MP J Santosh Kumar, MLAs, Government Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, and other top officials.
