Telangana Youth Congress Membership drive comes to end

Hyderabad:  The membership drive that extended for a month came to an end on  September 20 midnight with a whopping 12.3 lakhs applications being registered for membership, said Raju P. Nair, Pradesh Returning Officer for Telangana Youth Congress elections. The Telangana Youth Congress cadre worked tirelessly from the membership starting date.

The membership was fully online through the IYC app. In the next phase, the memberships will be verified thoroughly. The memberships were identified with the One Time Password that was allotted for each membership. the membership applications with the duplicate mobile numbers and wrong OTP combination will be put on hold.

The ID proof submitted with the membership will also be verified by the IYC during this process. With the number exceeding 12 lakhs this process will take at least a month, said Raju P. Nair. The memberships put on hold will be given a few days to update their documents after the verification process to make sure that genuine members are not left out. The announcement of the result will be made only after the scrutiny of the memberships is over and may extend to the first week of November.

The results for all committees will be announced only after this process, said, Raju. The top three contestants who get the highest number of votes will be called for an interview by a panel consisting of the Pradesh Returning Officer, Election Commissioner In Charge and the General Secretary In Charge of the organization and the State President will be announced. Approximate 1550 candidates contested in State, District, and Assembly level in the internal election.
