Telangana’s education sector is growing rapidly

Under the “Mana Ooru, Mana Badi” scheme, which was recently introduced in Telangana, all government schools with high enrollment will be promoted to the same level as corporate institutions.

The adoption of English medium education, as well as the establishment of exclusive Women University and Forest University, were also recommended in the revised budget allocation for the fiscal year 2022-2023, which Finance Minister T Harish Rao presented in the Assembly on Monday.

The initiative “Mana Ooru, Mana Badi” in rural regions and “Mana Basti, Mana Badi” in urban areas was launched with a Rs 7,289 crore budget to develop all government schools on a massive scale.

Work at 9,123 schools would be halted under Phase I of the scheme, with a budget of Rs 3,497 crore. Several facilities will be provided, including electrification of schools, drinking water, resources for conducting online classes, adequate furniture, repairs and painting of schools, green chalkboards, kitchen sheds, compound walls, additional classrooms, dining halls, and toilets with running water. Along with this, there would be a focus on the learning outcomes of children. The Minister said that all of the state’s schools would have facilities comparable to those found in corporate institutions.

According to Harish, the government has also begun measures to promote English as a medium of instruction in all schools. The impoverished pupils who primarily attend government schools might benefit from studying in English.

The administration has proposed the establishment of the first women’s university in the state, with a budget of Rs 100 crore. “There was not a single forest college when the state was created. To fill the need, the government established a forest college at Mulugu. It has now been agreed that this institution should be refurbished and transformed into a Forest University. A budget of Rs 100 crore has been recommended for this purpose “added the Minister.
