There is a need for another regional party in Telangana: Visweswar Reddy

Former MP Konda Visweswar Reddy, who recently resigned from  Congress Party, today said that there was a need for another regional party in the state. He said that different states of the country with two regional parties were witnessing a lot of development. He however hastened to state that the establishment of more regional parties would only help the ruling TRS party in the elections.

Speaking to media persons at his residence in the city, he said that Congress was neither able to project itself as an effective alternative political party nor act as a strong opposition political party and added that so many senior leaders left the party due to the same reason. He said that he had held discussions with so many leaders from the state on the issue of establishment of a new political party or join BJP in the state or contest as an independent candidate in the upcoming elections.

Reddy said that he met with leaders like Professor Kodandaram, Teenmar Mallanna, and Ramulu Naik. He also said that he sought the appointment of state health minister Eatala Rajender and would soon meet him. He doubted that CM KCR would float a political party with Eatala if he wanted. He made it clear that he joined the TRS only after three years of chase by KCR.

I like Eatala, Harish a lot

Speaking further, Visweswar did not mince words to express his affection for state ministers Eatala Rajender and T. Harish Rao. He said that he liked the two leaders a lot and added that the two leaders would speak less and listen more. He said that he would join the TRS party if the CM KCR and his son KTR quit their posts and handed over the charge to either Eatala Rajender or Harish Rao.

He made it clear that he would never join YS Sharmila’s political party.
