Three Bank Card Fraudsters Arrested by Police

Hyderabad, Nov.26 (NSS): Cyber Crime Police of CCS, Detective Department, apprehended three offenders namely  Niraj Bagat of Durgapur, Bardhaman Pritam Debnath  and   Anupam Sarkar both R/o North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal, who are assisting inter-state fraudsters indulging in obtaining debit/credit card details including OTP numbers from bank customers posing themselves as bank officials by providing them their address details and bank accounts on commission basis. Police seized mobile phones, bank pass books and debit cards used in the offence from them.

Basing on the complaints regarding receiving of phone call from unknown persons posing as Bank Officials who obtained SBI debit card details and OTP numbers fraudulently and made on-line transactions for an amounts of Rs.6,06,000/- and 50,000/-, two separate cases were registered  by the cyber  Crime PS, CCS, Detective Department,  and investigation started.

During the course of investigation, basing on the information provided by banks and e-commerce wallets and clues on hand, a police team proceeded to West Bengal and apprehended the accused person Niraj Bagat and brought him to Hyderabad on transit warrant. The offenders Pritam Debnath and Anupam Sakar were brought on P.T. warrant from Mednipore District Correctional Home, West Bengal, who were arrested by Kotwali Police of Mednipore district in their debit card fraud case.  The accused persons are remanded to Judicial custody.(NSS)
