Three-day trade expo at Hitex from June 22

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Regional Chapter of the Institute of Indian Interior Designers will organize a three-day trade expo “IIID Showcase Insider 2018” from June 22 to 24 at Hitex, Madhapur. It will be a B2B exhibition. It will showcase all verticals of the building industry.

The three day event is sponsored by a host of industry vendors, including Platinum Partner Meraqee, Gold partners Darpan Furnishings, Jaquar, Navrathan AntiqueArt, Varmora tiles and Silver partners Asian Paints, Nayan Hardware, Kulture and Navakar. The show will be organized in support of the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA)-Telangana Chapter, the Crafts Council of AP and Telangana, ISHRAE-Deccan Chapter, Indian Plumbing Association, INTACH and FSAI and others, according to Aparna Bidarkar, Chairperson IIID-HRC. The expo will showcase six proto-types developed by students from six different teams who underwent various workshops.

The objective of the workshop was to focus on the potential of design intervention to transform public spaces in Hyderabad into vibrant and livable spaces. The three day fair will be the launch pad for many unique and innovative products, he said. Godrej & Boyce, part of the diversified Godrej group, is expected to introduce its furniture brand “Script” to the local market through the expo.

IIID-HRC Chairperson Aparna Bidarkar said “The IIID Hyderabad Chapter hosts the Design Showcase event annually to expose the Hyderabad fraternity to the latest trends, thought and innovations in the Design industry. It is a comprehensive forum covering every vertical, offering every element, from smart devices to turnkey solutions. Proment architect Sanjay Mohe will also deliver Keynote address to industry professionals on the same day evening

The workshop involves students working on two different projects based on their year of study. The 1st and 2nd-year students will be creating a product out of unused waste collected from construction sites and furniture industry. Whereas, the students 3rd year and above will be going through an intense workshop with product designers and Architects working on Urban Utility products. (NSS)
