TITA app received appreciation from Skoch Group

Digithon has bagged another award for its services.

The T-Consult app, a telemedicine service started by TITA during Covid induced lockdown, has received appreciation from Skoch Group. TITA had launched the fee virtual doctor consultations in Makthal constituency in Naryaranapet district. The special jury at Skoch praised TITA for offering20,000 free virtual doctor consultations for the residents of remote areas in Makthal.

Narayanpet District Collector Harichandana appreciated the TITA initiative and congratulated the Association on its bagging the prestigious award. “I would like to congratulate the T Consult team for their hard work and well-deserved recognition. They have been dedicatedly pursuing this project so we appreciate their commitment, the Narayanpet Collector said Harichandana.

The T-Consult app received an encouraging response from the people, benefiting villagers through teleconsultations. The telemedicine facility helped the residents of remote villages who found it difficult to access medical services during the lockdown. Makthal became the first Mandal in the country where all its villages have access to telemedicine due to TITA’s efforts. The telemedicine services, in which 39 villages in the Mandal have been covered, were launched by District Collector Harichandana and TITA Global President Sundeep Kumar Makthala on April 8, 2020.

TITA trained 39-gram Panchayat Secretaries of all villages in the Mandal, who now acted as the Nodal Officers for the T-Consult App project at the Gram Panchayat offices.
Accordingly, ANMs and ASHA workers were also trained for the services. Patients received online prescriptions and consultations for free through the project. As many as 20,000 individuals from all sections received free consultations online during the lockdown. The e- medicine services rendered by T-Consult received the 69th Skoch Award under the telemedicine category.

TITA’s initiative bagged the award ‘Excellence in Response to Covid’ category. The award was presented on December 2. TITA brought telemedicine to villages with the support of many stakeholders. Primary Health Centres, Sub-Centres were connected with T-Consult services to render medical services with the active support of TITA’s digital volunteers. Medical experts rendered services to the need free of cost the villagers during the tough phase of lockdown.

TITA Global President Sundeep Makthala visited villages and studied the working of teleconsultations launched by the Association. Also, the Nodal Officers were trained for the entire procedure to make the process successful.

The jury at the national-level award appreciated the mechanism adopted by the TITA to ensure medical services were rendered to the vulnerable sections. T-Consult services were provided in Yadadri, Bhuvanagiri, Karimnagar, Mulugu, and Medak districts also.

Speaking on the occasion, TITA Global President Sundeep Makthala said that the association noticed that the people in remote areas were having a tough time in accessing medical services during the lockdown and came up with the T-Consult initiative. Sundeep said that as many as 20,000 consultations were rendered free of cost during the lockdown period and were availed by rich and poor sections alike. Coming to the aid of villagers during a pandemic and saving their lives gives us immense pleasure and happiness, said Sundeep.

He thanked all the stakeholders who made the delivery of telemedicine services successful.
Sundeep said that the huge response to the T-Consult initiative gave TITA a resolve to take up more such initiative in the future also.
