Tonsuring Case Sends Telgu Filmmaker Nutan Naidu to Jail

On Sunday, a court in Visakhapatnam transferred Telugu filmmaker Nutan Naidu to judicial custody for the span of 14 days in a Dalit youth’s torment and tonsuring case.

Nutan Naidu, who was also a part of the TelUgu ‘Big Boss‘, was taken into custody in Karnataka and was taken on Saturday and presented before a magistrate on Sunday. The magistrate remanded him to judicial custody for about fourteen days. The accused was afterward moved to Anakapalli Sub-Jail.

Police Commissioner of Visakhapatnam, Manish Kumar Sinha announced on Friday that Nutan Naidu was apprehended from Udupi in Karnataka. He was taken into custody six days after the police arrested his wife Madhu Priya and six others for attacking and tonsuring a Dalit youth at their home on the suspicion of cell phone theft.

Sinha said that Nutan Naidu was arrested after his association in the occurrence was established. He had made calls to his wife before and after the occurrence.

During the investigation, the police additionally found that he had called a few officials mimicking retired IAS official P.V. Ramesh to defend his wife in the situation. He made phone calls to the superintendent of King George Hospital, Dr. P.V. Sudhakar, and different authorities requesting that they issue clinical certificates to the accused.
