Hyderabad: Telangana Praja Samithi president Neera Kishore today demanded that the TRS government remove the statue of former Chief Minister Kasu Brahmananda Reddy near NTR Trust Bhavan as he caused deaths of 369 Telangana protagonists in a police firing during 1969 agitation.
In an open letter to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, the TPS leader said the government has responsibility to remove the KBR statue to safeguard the interests of its people. Otherwise, the TPS will remove it and rechristen it after Telangana Martyrs, she said, adding that the existence of KBR statue was an insult to Telangana martyrs. (NSS)
