Tragic Suicide of Two College Students in Telangana

In a terrible incidence, two female students from the Government Degree College for Women in Telangana’s Nalgonda town, Enugudula Manisha (20) and Danthaboina Shivanai (20), died from pesticide poisoning. The incident happened on Tuesday, and both students were taken to Nalgonda’s Government General Hospital, where they died.

The two companions were in their second year of B.Sc. studies and were from Nakkalapally in Nalgonda district. On Tuesday evening, they were discovered unconscious in a municipal park in Ramnagar, on the outskirts of Nalgonda, with a pesticide bottle beside them.

The two students were staying at a private hostel in town and had returned home around 20 days earlier, according to the authorities. They left their houses on the day of the incident, assuring their families that they had a lab exam at college. It was revealed that they were being harassed by someone who had shared their modified photos on social media. These photos were allegedly obtained from their WhatsApp display images and inappropriately modified.

The police registered a case and launched an investigation after receiving a complaint from their family members. This terrible occurrence shows the devastating effects of cyberbullying and harassment on young people’s mental health and well-being, encouraging society to address and prevent such concerns.
