Train Cancellations and Restoration Work Following Triple Train Accident: Update on Secunderabad-Shalimar Trains and MMTS Services

Two trains, Secunderabad – Shalimar (12774) and Shalimar – Secunderabad (12773), were cancelled on June 27 and 28, respectively, due to restoration work at Bahanga Bazar station on the Kharagpur – Bhadrak segment. This cancellation is due to ongoing rail repair work following a recent triple train accident involving the Coromandel Express and Yeshwanthpur Express.

Along with these cancellations, the South Central Railway (SCR) has cancelled 36 MMTS (Multi-Modal Transport System) trains from June 25 to July 6. These cancellations are required for operational and maintenance reasons.

Railway officials have recommended citizens to take these adjustments into consideration and arrange their journey appropriately. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently visited the Balasore railway disaster site and spoke with Bahanaga Bazar residents to discuss the ongoing rehabilitation efforts.
