Tribal Rights Organisation Demands Action Against Attempted Sexual Abuse in Kumram Bheem Asifabad

Tudumdebba, a tribal rights organisation, held a demonstration (dharna) in Kumram Bheem Asifabad on Wednesday, demanding action against a man who reportedly attempted to sexually abuse a tribal woman in Dabba village, Koutala mandal.

Kotnaka Vijay Kumar, the district president of Tudumdebba, urged that the culprit be executed for his attempted rape of the victim. Kumar claimed that the accused verbally abused tribals who witnessed him in the act. He asked the police to file a case against the accused and prosecute him harshly.

According to the Koutala police, Abdul Rasheed of Dabba village was charged with the offence on Tuesday under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989, and other sections of the Indian Penal Code.
