Trickster, who extracted Rs 20 lakh from girls held

Hyderabad: The City Cyber Crime Police today arrested a confidence trickster Nallapati Jeevan Kumar of Nallamadugula village of Prakasam District for cheating innocent women on pretext of marrying them and extracting money from them saying his mother was bedridden and undergoing treatment for Cancer.

Sleuths said they received a complaint from a woman of Secunderabad on October 4 stating she created her profile with Jeevansathi.com with a view to search for a suitable groom. Later, she searched for suitable alliances over the website and found one profile with the name of Rishi Kumar Nallapati. She sent a message that she was interested to marry him. With this, both exchanged photos and calls and decided to marry.

Later, he requested her to furnish her credit card details facilitating him to use her cards as his mother was suffering from cancer. Believing his words, she sent photos of her credit cards to him through whatsapp No. 6281327455. He used her credit cards of Citi Bank and SBI and withdrew Rs 2 lakh. Later he asked her for her debit card details of her debit card and withdrew Rs 40,000. Later he blocked her profile and stopped responding to her.

Basing on the complaint, the Cyber Crime police registered a case under Sections 66 C, D, I.T.A. Act, 2008 and Sec. 419, 420, IPC and took up investigation.

It was revealed that Nallapati Jeevan Kumar created a fake profile in matrimonial sites like Jeevansathi.com and Shadi.com in the name of Rishi Kumar by keeping the photos of one Prithvish Shetty and introduced himself as a Professor in Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and sent messages to many earning women informing them that he liked their profiles and asked them to go through his profile.

In February, he sent acceptance to the complainant of Secunderabad through JeevanSathi.com. She liked his profile, agreed to marry him. The accused convinced her and withdrew Rs 2,40,000 from her cards by purchasing one I phone X, one LG TV, Apple Air PODS and one Valentine watch and spent remaining money for enjoyment.

Again in March this year, the accused trapped a software employee in the same matrimonial site and cheated her in similar fashion and managed to get Rs 10,00,000 through online transfer in to his account. Again in April, he came into contact with another unemployed girl of Bengaluru and squeezed money from her on the same modus operandi. She   had deposited Rs 1,80,000 into his account. Thus he cheated different girls and extracted Rs 20 lakh on different matrimonial sites. (NSS)
