On Sunday, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party won the key bypoll in Telangana’s Munugode after a high-voltage contest with BJP. TRS emerged victorious with a majority of 11,666 votes.

Over 93% of polling was reported in the bypoll held on November 3, which was prompted by the resignation of sitting Congress MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy from the party in August. He joined the BJP and is looking for re-election.

There were 47 candidates in total, with the TRS, BJP, and Congress receiving the primary focus. BJP fielded former Congress MLA Reddy on a BJP ticket, while Congress fielded Palvai Sravanthi Reddy, daughter of former MP Palvai Goverdhan Reddy.
