TRS fails to ask Centre to implement AP Bifurcation promises: TDP

Hyderabad: Telangana TDP today demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao lead a delegation to New Delhi and mount pressure on the Union government to fulfil promises enshrined in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act of 2014.

Speaking to the media at NTR trust bhavan today, party national spokesperson Arvind Kumar Goud accused Chief Minister KCR of not mounting pressure on the BJP-led NDA government to implement all promises made at the time of bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh State. He also said if KCR was sincere he should lead a delegation of all party leaders and members of NGOs to New Delhi and mount pressure on the Center to fulfil its promises.

The TTDP also sought an appointment with the Governor for July 18, he said, adding that a memorandum would be submitted to the Governor listing bifurcation promises. The party would also bring to the notice of the Governor about the “conspiracy” between the TRS government and the BJP government at the Centre for not raising the issue of APRA promises, the TTDP leader said.

State party general secretary Bandru Shobharani wondered as to why the TRS leaders, during their visits to New Delhi, were not demanding the Centre to implement promises envisaged in AP Reorganization Act. He also said setting up of Bayyaram steel plant, Railway coach factory at Kazipet, Horticulture university, national status to irrigation projects are some of the issues mentioned in the Act, she reminded.
