TRS suffers jolt in TS Bar Council chief election

Hyderabad: The ruling TRS party received a jolt in the Telangana State Bar Council chairman elections held on Saturday. Former Bar Council chairman A. Narasimha Reddy won the elections by defeating his rival Gandra Mohan Rao, who was supported by the ruling TRS party by a majority of two votes.

The election for the chairman’s post was held following a directive by the Supreme Court. The election results has brought to fore the fact that the advocates of the State were distancing themselves from the ruling TRS party. The State has over 25,000 advocates.
