Trump declares victory prior to results, demands to stop the vote-counting

Voting has closed and the counting has begun in America. With this, the latter has proved that the battle for the seat of the US President isn’t going to be an easy one for either of the candidates as the difference is very less. Amidst the ballot-counting, President Trump declared his victory prior to the election commission announcing or completely counting votes. Calling the election a “fraud on the Americans”, he said he’ll be going to the Supreme Court to cease any further counting immediately.

Trump absurd announcement came at 2.30 am on Wednesday post his victory in the states of Florida, Ohio, and Texas, where Joe Biden lost miserably. Even after the last-minute rallies and campaigns organized by Biden and his wife in Florida, they weren’t able to outshine Trump as Floridians dint vote for him.

In his statement given from the White House, Trump said, “This is a fraud on the American public. This is an embarrassment to this country. We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election.”

In his claim, he said his victory is confirmed in major states of Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. However, Biden seems to have an upper hand here according to the in-mail ballot counting that has just begun for these places.

Trump further demanded for the closure of counting ballots and said that he “doesn’t want to see any ballot-counting post 4 am”. The legal clauses under which he will be doing this aren’t evident till now.

Nevertheless, the democratic campaign manager, Jen O’Malley Dillon called the President’s claims as “outrageous, unprecedented and incorrect”. He said, “The counting will not stop. It will continue until every duly cast vote is counted. Because that is what our laws – the laws that protect every Americans’ constitutional right to vote – require.”

As neither of them has reached the mark of 270 votes yet, the Association Press refused to ascertain the victory of either. They said, “His assertion of victory does not match the results and information currently available to the AP.”

On the other hand, Biden asked his supporters “to keep the faith” and they “are on the right track”.

“We knew this was going to go long… into tomorrow morning and maybe even longer but look, we feel good about where we are. We believe we are on track to win this election,” Biden said.

With Biden winning in states of Arizona, California, New York, Washington, and Illinois, he has achieved enough to make this a nail-biting fight.

Partial results of some states showed Biden winning but the aftermath gave a different result as Trump secured them, although with a close call, as in Florida where Trump won with more than 51% and Biden lost with a little less than 49% votes in his hand.

Biden’s partner running for the post of Vice President, Kamala Harris, carried out campaigns in the past week in Phoenix and Tucson.

The fight is extremely close with the current tallies showing Biden leading at 49.93% votes and Trump not far at all tagging alongside with 48.45% votes. In one of the most thrilling elections in American history, this fight will be one to remember.
