TSSPDCL makes it easy to change ownership of electricity connections

As a result of the difficulties people face when changing ownership of electricity service connections, Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL) has made the process of changing ownership of electricity service connections easy.

G Raghuma Reddy, chairman and managing director of TSSPDCL, announced here on Thursday that electricity service connections can be changed by submitting a few documents through the company’s website www.tssouthernpower.com or through an Integrated Customer Service Center.

A consumer applying for a change of name or title transfer must provide identification proof with self-attestation, an indemnity bond worth Rs 100 on non-judicial stamp paper with a photo of the applicant and an attested copy of a registered sale deed (or) partnership deed (or) will deed (or) any other registered ownership document in the name of the present applicant.

Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding & articles of association/or partnership deed along with an authorization letter from the company to the applicant must be uploaded in the case of a company.

In case of joint ownership of the property (or) partnership in the company, a No-Objection-cum-Consent (NOC) in a prescribed format on non-judicial stamp paper worth Rs10 is required. For transfers to legal heirs, self-attested copies of the death certificate of the previous owner and the legal heir certificate are required.

The TSSPDCL CMD directed the Superintending Engineer to review title transfer application rejections or pendency regularly, looking into the reasons for rejections and ensuring that name changes/title transfers are carried out within 7 days.

The CMD has issued instructions to the superintending engineer/operations to ensure strict implementation of the guidelines issued on the amended list of documents for title transfer so that consumers are not inconvenienced.

The SEs, operations, will review title transfer applications on a regular basis, thoroughly investigating the reasons for rejections and ensuring that name changes/title transfers are implemented within the SOP limit of seven days.
