Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force personnel on Sunday intercepted a transport Goods Auto trolley at Begum bazaar crossroads under Shahinayathgunj Police limits and seized noxious chewing tobacco (Baba 120 Premium Chewing Tobacco) in 330 tins each weighing 50 grams and took two accused Shaik Parvez Mohd Yousuf into custody. Police said the duo was illegally transporting and selling the banned Noxious Chewing Tobacco to addicted customers on high price.
As the State Government banned the sale, manufacture, distribution and storage of Zarda, Gutka containing tobacco and all its variants, the accused have planned to earn easy money by selling the banned Zarda, Gutkha in the market and violated the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006.
The accused and the seized material were handed over to SHO, Shahinayathgunj PS. (NSS)
