Hyderabad: Two persons were killed and nine injured in separate accidents in Suryapet district on Monday morning.
A major accident was averted when an APSRTC bus screeched to a halt on the edge of Musi canal after hitting the retaining wall at Suryapet. Five persons were injured in the road accident. The super luxury bus of APSRTC No AP 16Z005 overturned after hitting the retaining wall of the Musi canal near Amma Gardens on the outskirts of Suryapet town. As the bus stopped on the edge of the canal after turning turtle, a major mishap was averted. There were 40 passengers in the bus at the time of the incident. The bus was on its way to BHEL in Hyderabad from Nuziveedu. The injured have been shifted to Area hospital at Suryapet by 108 Ambulance for treatment.
In another accident, two persons were killed and four others injured when their car overturned on National Highway 65 at Dorakunta of Kodad mandal in the district. A person died on the spot and another died while being shifted to a hospital. In all, six persons were traveling in the car, which was going to Vijayawada from Hyderabad. Among other four inured persons, the condition of one woman, who was being treated in a private hospital at Khammam, was said to be serious. (NSS)
