Two men in Hyderabad charged with stealing soap worth Rs 40 lakh

Police in Maheshwaram on Thursday cracked a rare theft case against Rajesh Ved (52), a sweet store owner from Pune and resident of Gajularamaram, and Sushil Bera (32) from Sangareddy district and a resident of Kolkata who had diverted the load to sell fraudulently. Their accomplices from Maharashtra, Venkat, and Pareesh, have absconded. These men stole Santoor soaps worth Rs.39.7 Lakh.

Sushil Bera and Rajesh Ved diverted trucks loaded with equipment to steal goods. In April, the two established Shree Sai Transport in Dhule in Madhya Pradesh along with Venkat and Pareesh. In exchange for Rs.70,000 per month, they leased a truck from Ruknuddin.

From Maharashtra and Karnataka, soaps were transported to Maheshwaram in May. A storehouse in Maheshwaram loaded soap worth Rs.39.7 lakh for unloading at Tumkur in Karnataka on June 27.

When they reached Rudram village, they stopped the truck and unloaded the materials into two storage units. Following that, they transported the stock to Macha Bolarum in auto trolleys and sold some of it to local dealers for a relatively low price.

As a result of a complaint from Mandeep Kumar, the transport manager for Super Safe Logistics in Vanasthalipuram, a case was booked and both men were arrested. In addition to soaps worth Rs.38 lakh, a truck and Rs.1.2 lakh were seized by the police.

Whipped Cream Soaps, A Work of Art

A city-based self-made entrepreneur Sakshee started ‘Skinmushh’ a brand of whipped cream soaps that has expanded to 60 products and is set to inspire many women. Sakshee who is an IIT computer science graduate is currently in the US to scale her business up globally and understand customer behavior. Her focus is on combining ayurvedic and modern skin care techniques.

Sakshee introduced whipped cream soaps to Hyderabadis perhaps for the first time. In her explanation, she says: “The process is straightforward – take plant-based ingredients, homogenize them at a suitable temperature, and then blend them with extracts to make whipped soap.”.
