Uber Drivers can now see location and payment method

Uber has introduced a slew of measures to provide relief to cab drivers and riders, including showing trip destinations to drivers and raising Uber fares. In a statement, Uber informed that its aim is to provide drivers and riders with a safe, reliable platform.

According to Uber India’s head of central operations Nitish Bhushan, “Rides and drivers aren’t enjoying the Uber experience as much as we’d like. Fuel prices, long-distance pick-ups, and payment schedules have caused drivers to be anxious about their earning potential. There have been complaints from riders about drivers cancelling trips or not turning on the air conditioning.” Uber has also increased fares to soften the blow of rising fuel costs.

Modes of payment, ride cancellations and pickup issues fixed

As Uber understands how frustrating it can be to have a trip cancelled after asking about the destination, the company will now show the destination to drivers before accepting the trip. In order to access the destination information, drivers must meet a predefined trip acceptance threshold, the statement reads.

Fare receipts will show the earnings for long pickups, separated from other earnings. This will ensure that you can get a ride when you need one when there are few drivers and high demand. Uber’s mission is to make its service a reliable choice for riders at any time.

Among the measures, Uber has taken to resolve long-distance pick-ups is the introduction of additional earnings for drivers who have to travel a long distance to pick up riders.

It was said they would opt for more flexibility in payment when they met with the Uber advisory council. Hence, before the trip starts, Uber will inform drivers of how they will pay (cash or online).

“Introducing daily payouts for drivers was the first thing we did. Such a system will ensure drivers earn earnings from Monday to Thursday the next day, while earnings from Friday to Sunday will be credited the following Monday,” the company said.
