UK’s Lloyds Banking Group Chooses Hyderabad for New Technology Centre, Strengthening Digital Capabilities and Job Opportunities

Lloyds Banking Group, a UK financial services company, has announced intentions to open a new technology centre in Hyderabad’s Knowledge City neighbourhood. The business, which operates the UK’s digital bank and has over 20 million digitally engaged users, intends to enhance its digital capabilities by building this new centre later this year.

The Lloyds Technology Centre, which is part of Lloyds Banking Group’s £3 billion strategic investment over the next three years to improve its digital capabilities, will initially employ roughly 600 highly skilled individuals in technology, data, and cyber security areas. This move is intended to enhance the group’s client experience while also strengthening its in-house technological skills.

Lloyds Banking Group’s Chief Operating Officer, Ron van Kemenade, emphasised the possibility in Hyderabad due to its strong engineers and impressive technology ecosystem. The organisation is looking for people who want to enhance their abilities, generate innovation, and contribute to long-term success.

Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister, KT Rama Rao, expressed gratitude to Lloyds Banking Group for choosing Hyderabad, highlighting the city’s superior tech talent and status as a favoured global location for IT/ITES exports.

The Lloyds Technology Centre will be focused on driving innovation and product delivery through the use of technology, digital capabilities, data, and analytics. It will not provide financial services, but it will help the group’s foreign sourcing strategy.In preparation for the technology center’s launch later this year, recruitment efforts for the leadership team and broader jobs are already ongoing.
