Union Minister criticizes TRS after BJP Chief’s picture placed in grave

Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi criticized the ruling TRS in Telangana on Friday over a symbolic grave with an image of BJP president J P Nadda in it.

The symbolic grave was allegedly erected in protest of the Centre’s failure to fulfill the promise to establish a research centre to address the problem of fluoride in water in Telangana’s Nalgonda district, despite Nadda’s assurance to that effect when he was Union Health Minister.

Joshi, who was in the state as part of the BJP’s ‘Lok Sabha Pravas Yojana,’ stated that the NDA government is committed to establishing the centre and claimed that the TRS government has not made any land allotments for it.

“Research centre on fluorosis. Our national president probably as the then Health Minister he had promised. Today, as a part of the Government of India, we are very committed to that assurance. But, they have not provided the land. Ultimately, land will be the state subject,” he told reporters.

He blamed the TRS for the symbolic grave, saying it only demonstrates the “level” of the state’s ruling party.

Criticism is natural in politics, but establishing a “samadhi” speaks volumes about the “culture” of the party and its leader, he said.

Joshi, who condemned the symbolic grave, said TRS president and Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao should apologize to Nadda for it.

In response to the TRS being renamed Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), he stated that it can be called ‘Rao Samiti’ because it is a family party.

During the TRS regime, there has been no positive change in Telangana, he claims, but the party’s name has been changed.

Furthermore, he expressed confidence that the BJP would win the Munugode bypoll in Telangana on November 3.
