UP CM To Provide Free Wifi Across State From August 15

Amidst the developmental changes in Uttar Pradesh, the government has decided to provide a free WiFi facility to the youth of the state from August 15 this year.

UP Government To Provide Free WiFi In 75 Districts

As per the latest reports, the state governments will provide free WiFi across 75 districts, offices, municipal councils. It also includes other 17 municipal corporations and 217 public places.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had instructed the urban development department officials to campaign for the free wifi to the netizens. Reports suggest that Divisional Commissioners, District Magistrates and Municipal Commissioners have been instructed to provide the facility at the major public places.

Following the same, hotspots for WiFI have been identified across the state. Free wifi from August 15 will be available at all bus stations, places near the railway stations, courts, block offices, tehsils, registrar offices and many of the main markets in each city of Uttar Pradesh.

During the elections, the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh had promised free Wifi to the people in their poll manifesto. After coming to power, Wifi facility was provided at Lucknow and other major places in other cities.

For this purpose, hotspots were set up in the Hazratganj area of Lucknow to provide WiFi facility to the people.

Civic Officials To Tie Up With Internet Companies and Internet Speed Will Given Special Care

Reports suggest that CM Yogi Adityanth had decided to extend the scheme to other major public places across district headquarters, municipal corporations, etc. The officials said that the facility will be available in two places in major cities and at one place in smaller cities.

Civic officials will tie up with Internet companies for the free WiFi facility. Special care will be taken about Internet speed. Meanwhile, municipal commissioners and executive officers have already been instructed that smart city projects will cover the costs of free Wifi facilities across Uttar Pradesh.
