US Berkeley Schools To Reinstate Face Masks Mandate As Covid Cases Surge

In the latest updates, students at government-funded schools in Berkeley, in the western US province of California, will be expected to wear masks in indoor spaces beginning from Monday through the school year which closes on June 3, as Covid-19 cases flood locally, as indicated by a declaration from Berkeley Unified School District authorities.

Mask wearing is expected at all indoor school occasions, including graduation functions that happen at offices off-grounds, said the declaration on Friday. Berkeley Unified was among the Bay Area school locale that lifted the mask command in study halls toward the beginning of March/

At the point when the command was lifted, California’s seven-day normal was 8.2 cases per 100,000 individuals, as indicated by a report by The San Francisco Chronicle. Across the Bay Area, there were 472 individuals with Covid-19 in hospitals, up almost 20% from seven days prior, the report said.
