Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath Prepares PICU for Children Ahead of Third Wave

Amidst the rising cases of Covid 19, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered for special arrangements at the hospitals for children. This comes after expert warned that third wave of Coronavirus might prove to be lethal for children.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath Arranges for PICU 

As per the latest reports, CM Yogi Adityanath has ordered an arrangement to protect the children from the deadly pandemic virus. He has ordered to make arrangements for ICU with top class treatments. And soon paediatric beds will be available with all the resources known as the PICU (Paediatric Intensive Care Unit).

PICUs will be functional in all the hospitals of the metropolitan cities including Lucknow. The government spokesman confirmed that the Chief Minister has given the instructions to set up at least 100 paediatric beds in every district for the kids.

Salman Khan, a paediatrician at the Dufferin Hospital in Lucknow said that the decision made by Yogi Adityanath to set up 50-100 beds in all the major cities would be very effective to help treat the children against the Coronavirus.

He said that all the facilities will be provided in PICU for children above one month. For children below one month will receive fasciitis in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Along with Sick Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) which will be established at the maternity hospitals.

Uttar Pradesh To Hire More Staff If Needed

Reports suggest that these beds will be small in size and will have railing on the sides. Children who are severely infected will be provided with treatment and oxygen. The Chief Minister has already mentioned that if needed, ex-servicemen and retired officers will be approached for help. He also said that students receiving medical education will be trained and provided with tele consultation.

At the same time, medical education departments have been instructed to ensure that medicine and all the medical equipment are ready in place before things get worse. The government spokesperson said that the Centre has increased the allotment of Covid 19 drugs for UP.
