Vaghela extends support to KCR’s foray into national politics

Shankersinh Vaghela, a veteran Gujarat politician, called on Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao here on Friday and extended his support to the TRS leader’s foray into national politics.

According to an official release from the CM’s office, the former Gujarat Chief Minister said he was willing to work under Rao.

In the current political situation, the Congress party, which is supposed to provide an alternative, is lacking leadership and is also unable to unite all to counter the misdeeds of the BJP, Vaghela is quoted as saying in the release.

It is important for a leader like you to unite the like-minded opposition parties in this context. We are all ready to work under your leadership. It was only after we decided together that I came to Hyderabad to meet you. Furthermore, they sent me to you. Our outright support is yours, Vaghela said.

In Pragati Bhavan, Rao’s official residence, both leaders discussed several national-level key issues for about 5 hours.

They discussed Telangana’s progress, which is a role model in the country, and the current political situation, according to the report.

According to the former Gujarat chief minister, the central government is acting against Telangana since its creation in 2014.

Vaghela accused the BJP of ‘hatching conspiracies’ through its dictatorial attitude to subjugate opposition-ruled states in the country. He called for overthrowing the NDA government at the Centre.

Vaghela’s meeting with Rao follows the meeting of former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy with the Telangana CM.

The KCR office recently announced that “very soon, a national party will be formed and its policies will be formulated.”

In its Foundation Day event this year, the TRS adopted a resolution resolving that it should play a leading role in national politics since the BJP is exploiting “communal sentiments” for political advantage.
