VH too quits party post to pressurize Rahul Gandhi

Hyderabad: Former MP and AICC Secretary V. Hanumantha Rao on Sunday resigned from his party post. He sent his resignation letter to party president Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, Hanumantha Rao said he was resigning from his party post in order to mount pressure on Rahul Gandhi to withdraw his resignation and continue as party president. He also said Rahul Gandhi alone should not own the responsibility for the defeat of the party in the recent Lok Sabha elections.

Hanumantha Rao said all the leaders of the party should take up collective responsibility for the defeat of the party. He made it clear that the party was defeated as the party leadership had given tickets to parachuted leaders. He said the party would have a great future if Rahul Gandhi continues in his post. (NSS)
