Vietnam Urges Increased Efforts in COVID-19 Vaccination

Vietnam has been working hard to vaccinate its citizens against COVID-19, with reports indicating that over 266 million doses of the vaccine have been delivered to date. The country has also been distributing the AstraZeneca vaccine to all 63 provinces and towns in the country. However, the vaccination rate is not uniform, and several areas have a lower rate of vaccination, falling below 80%.

The head of the General Department of Preventive Medicine, Phan Trong Lan, has warned that the number of COVID-19 cases may continue to rise while the country remains at pandemic level one, or low risk. This state the need for increased efforts in vaccination campaigns to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Despite registering almost 2,600 new COVID-19 infections in the last week, Vietnam has not documented any virus-related fatalities in over three and a half months, which is a testament to the country’s efforts to control the spread of the virus.

Overall, Vietnam’s vaccination efforts, while not yet uniform, have been significant in ensuring the safety of its citizens. With continued efforts and a focus on vaccination campaigns, Vietnam can hopefully prevent further outbreaks of the virus and continue to keep its citizens safe.
