Violent Clash Over Property Issue Erupts in Hyderabad’s Mirchowk Neighborhood

On Saturday night, tensions erupted in Hyderabad’s Mirchowk neighbourhood as two groups clashed over a property issue. Masood Ali Khan, a lawyer, and numerous other people were involved in the brawl. Masood Ali Khan allegedly fired two bullets from his rifle at the opposing party during the altercation. The incident sparked panic in the region, prompting the police to intervene.

Confrontations with lathis (wooden sticks) began the conflict, which later escalated to stone-pelting between the two parties. To restore order, additional police officers were dispatched to the location. Mirchowk police arrived quickly and arrested both groups.

According to preliminary investigations, the altercation was tied to an ongoing property dispute in Magar ki Bowli, Miralam Mandi, Hyderabad. According to reports, Masood Ali Khan’s side had locked the disputed property, while the opposing group had aggressively broken open the locks. Masood Ali Khan took his licenced rifle from his apartment during the altercation and fired two bullets into the air.

Later that night, Joint Commissioner of Police Coordination Gaja Rao Bhupal arrived at the spot with other police officials to manage the situation. Mirchowk police have opened two separate investigations into the event, with the lawyer charged under the Arms Act. Additional investigations are presently underway.
