state health minister Etela Rajender today said that the state government would set up Basthi hospitals in all the big cities of the state.
Replying to questions raised by MLAs of the state assembly in the question hour, he said that the state Capital has 225 basthi hospitals within its limits.

He said that they had set up the basthi hospitals after drawing inspiration from Delhi-based mohalla clinics. He said that the chief minister of the state KCR had given his approval for the establishment of 350 basthi hospitals in the state.

He said that the hospitals would have a doctor, a staff nurse, and an attendee and added that the hospitals would run from morning 9 am to evening 4 pm. He said that they were giving ₹20,000 per month to each hospital for the purchase of medicines. He said that they had linked the Telangana diagnostics with the basthi hospitals.
