With 44k fresh Covid-19 cases,India’s Covid-19 Approaches 88L-mark

New Delhi: With 44,684 new COVID-19 infections and 520 deaths in the previous 24 hours, India’s overall count remained at 87,73,479 on Saturday, as the toll touched 1,29,188, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated.

Presently, there are 4,80,719 ongoing Covid-19 cases, though 81,63,572 patients have been cured and discharged up until now.

The recuperation rate remains at 92.97 percent, and the fatality rate is 1.47 percent, the Ministry stated.

On Friday, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) held 9,29,491 sample tests, taking the complete tested samples to 12,40,31,230.

Telangana recorded 1,050 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, taking the complete number of cases to 2,56,713 in the state.

As per the Telangana Health Department, 1,736 recuperations and four deaths were reported in the state on Friday.

The state Health Department stated the total count of COVID-19 cases in the state has risen to 2,56,713 including 2,38,908 discharges, 1,401 deaths, and ongoing cases 16,404

The case casualty rate at present stands at 0.54 percent in the state, while the recuperation rate remains at 93.06 percent.

A sum of 13,867 individuals is in-home or institutional quarantine in the state.

Odisha’s COVID-19 death tally passed the 1,500-mark on Saturday with 15 additional individuals losing their lives, while 902 new cases pushed the count to 3,07,906, a Health Department official stated.

Five individuals died in Sundergarh, four people in Khurda and two in Mayurbhanj. One patient each surrendered to COVID-19 in Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal and Puri, he stated.

The state’s death tally increased to 1,510 with the most recent fatalities.

Khurda region, of which Bhubaneswar is a part, has so far reported 263 deaths, followed by Ganjam,232, and Cuttack,124, the official stated.

Apart from this, 53 other COVID-19 patients have furthermore died in the state because of comorbidities.

Maharashtra remained to be the worst-hit state with 17,40,461 cases till date. There are 84,082 ongoing cases and 45,809 COVID-19 deaths.

Delhi reported a spike of 7,802 COVID-19 cases on Friday taking its infection count to more than 4,74,830, while 91 additional fatalities pushed the national capital’s death toll to 7,423.

The other worst-hit are Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh.
