‘YSR Asara’ Launched by Andhra CM to Liberate Women from debt Trap

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday started the ‘YSR Asara’ plan, which will profit 87 lakh women who are from 8.71 lakh self-help groups (SHGs).

He did an inquiry as to whether some other state government ever presented such a major plan, profiting an endless number of females.

The Chief Minister had guaranteed that the government of Andhra Pradesh will repay all the outstanding loans taken by all the women individuals from the SHGs having a place with the BC, SC, ST, and minority groups on April 11, 2019.

The YSR Asara plan pledges to store cash in the bank accounts of eligible women, adding up to Rs 27,168 crore altogether, in four portions.

On Friday, Reddy delivered the initial portion of Rs 6,792 crore at the flick of a switch in his office, within the sight of ministers and authorities.

District collectors, senior authorities, and a few recipients likewise saw the launch, live through a video meeting.

As indicated by the state government’s calculations, the outstanding loans of eligible women on the cut-off date were resolved to the sum Rs 25,383 crore.

A large portion of these women hailing from helpless families was compelled to take these advances for education, medical care, care of old individuals at home, day by day needs, and different emergencies.

This brought about getting them into an endless loop of debts because of their inability to adapt to the over the top paces of interest.
