YSRTP files petition on Rythu Bhima scheme

The YSRTP has filed a petition in the High Court on the Rythu Bandhu scheme being implemented by the State government.

The petition was filed by party leader Gattu Ramachandra Rao against the decision of the State government to fix the age limit for farmers for the implementation of the scheme.

The HC took up the petition for hearing and issued orders to the State government asking it to file its counter on the issue with complete details.

It said the State government should file the counter in the next six weeks.

Speaking on the occasion, petitioner Ramachandra Rao said there should not be any discrimination in the implementation of any welfare scheme of the State government.

Referring to Article 14 of the constitution, he said the said article prohibits any kind of discrimination.

He said the State has 24 lakh farmers, who are above the age of 59 years and wondered as to how the Rythu Bhima scheme would not be extended to all such farmers.
