Hyderabad: Telangana TDP president L. Ramana on Tuesday alleged that the issue related to the provision of ten percent reservations to EBCs of the country was nothing but an election stint of ruling BJP led NDA Government at the Centre. He made it clear that it was very difficult for the BJP to make its proposal into a law due to the complex procedure involved to amend the Constitution.
“The BJP introduced the Bill in Lok Sabha today. But, it also has to get passage of resolutions in all the State assemblies in the country with 2/3rd majority. Is it possible for the BJP in the present circumstances?,” he questioned.
Addressing the media at the NTR Bhavan today, Ramana wondered as to how the Centre, who had kept aside the Bills pertaining to provision of reservations to Kapus in AP and Muslims and STs in Telangana State, was now going ahead with 10% reservations to the OCs. He said the objective of the BJP was only to get votes of the upper caste people in the country in the upcoming elections. (NSS)
