1100 migrant workers from IIT Hyderabad sent to their native places

Hyderabad: The authorities of the state government today sent 1100 migrant workers, who have been kept at the IIT Hyderabad campus, to their native places in Jharkhand from Lingampally railway station. The authorities of Sangareddy district shifted the workers from the IIT Hyderabad campus in 50 buses to the railway station in the early hours of Friday.

The district collector Hanmantha Rao and SP Chandrasekhar Reddy and the officials of revenue and police Department bid farewell to the workers by clapping hands. It may be noted here that the workers staged a protest program on Thursday demanding the authorities to allow them to return to their native places. They had not only attacked with pelted stones but also damaged police vehicles when the cops tried to convince them to withdraw their protest program.
