125 ft Ambedkar statue in a year : Eshwar

HYDERABAD: A plan is on cards to set up India’s biggest statue of Constitutional architect Dr. BR Ambedkar near new Secretariat premises in Hyderabad.

Telangana Government earmarked Rs 146.50 crore for this mega project to set up a 125 ft tall statue on a 50 ft high basement that resembles the structure of the Indian Parliament.

The entire project will attract tourists from across the world as it will be in a lush green atmosphere with all facilities.

It will be a reality in a year by March next year after finalizing the tenders process, according to SC Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar.  Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is to give his nod after going through the project details,  he informed.

The minister said that they held talks with officials for finalizing the tenders to set up this statue as the entire structure will be at 175 ft height he said.  This will sure give credit to Telangana Chief Minister as KCR for building this structure in a grand manner.

This project will have a museum, library,  books, research texts on the life and history of Ambedkar, a green environment, and a study hall other facilities.
