13 new law and order police stations planned for Hyderabad

The Hyderabad Commissionerate is expected to have 13 new law and order police stations to assist with more effective and visible policing. To that end, the State government is expected to issue orders authorising the establishment of 13 new police stations, 11 police divisions, and two law and order zones in Hyderabad.

The new police stations that are expected to be established include Borabanda, Warasiguda, Tadbun, Bandlaguda, Domalguda, Lake PS, I S Sadan, Tolichowki, Gudimalkapur, Masab Tank, Filmnagar, Rahmathnagar and Khairatabad.

Chilkalguda, Osmania University, Saidabad, Golconda, Kulsumpura, Jubilee Hills, S R Nagar, Chatrinaka, Gandhinagar, Trimulgherry and Chandrayangutta are among the likely new police divisions. Two new zones South East and South West will also be created. will also be established.

A separate women safety wing will also be established in the Hyderabad Commissionerate with an official of DCP rank heading it. Five new women police stations apart from the existing two will come under the women safety wing.

The jurisdictions of the current police stations in the city are being demarcated to form the new police stations. For effective supervision, in certain areas there is an ACP rank official for two or three police stations.

Hyderabad Police to acquire latest software, gadgets to combat cybercrime

The investigation into cybercrime will be greatly aided by the city police acquiring the latest software and gadgets required for the task.

At a meeting, Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand approved the acquisition of the necessary latest software and gadgets in order to improve the investigation into cybercrime cases.

“We are taking up capacity building of cybercrime station. It will get an instate cybercrime investigation center and we will be training police station staff to tackle cybercrimes investigation,” he said. In 2022, the city reported 2,249 cases of cybercrime.

Anand discussed topics such as crime prevention and detection, pendency clearances, enhancing visible policing, and other challenges affecting citizens at a meeting attended by officials from various wings of the Hyderabad police who presented their action plan for the year 2023.
