200 new ‘108’ ambulances to be purchased by Telangana govt

Health Minister T Harish Rao stated that the State government would purchase 200 new ‘108’ ambulances to replace the old ambulances that had traveled more than 3 lakh kilometers.

During the Zilla Parishad meeting on Tuesday, the Health Minister responded to a request made by Munipally MPP Shailaja, who urged the Minister to replace the old ambulance in her mandal, by saying he had conducted a review meeting in Hyderabad on the ‘108’ ambulance services. He said the health department had already ordered 200 new ambulances and that the new ‘108’ ambulances would be in service within 45 days.

The Minister stated they had identified 200 ambulances that had travelled more than 3 lakh kilometres in Telangana.

The Minister also participated in Mahatma Jyotirao Phule’s birth anniversary celebrations in Sangareddy.

Harish Rao felicitated two medical technicians of 108 ambulance services on Sunday for successfully performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in the Siddipet district.

On Sunday, the Minister launched a CPR training program for health workers and other government employees in Siddipet, praising Kondapaka Mandal 108 ambulance service medical technician Mahendar Baindla and Chinnakoduru Mandal 108 ambulance service medical technician Kuncham Ashok. After presenting them with a shawl, he gave them mementos. The Minister also thanked the pilots of both vehicles, Ramesh and Venkat, for their efforts in getting the vehicles to the patient’s location on time.

Zilla Parishad Chairperson V Roja Sharma, MLC Farooq Hussain, Collector Prasanth Jeevan Patil, Commissioner of Police N Swetha and others were present.
