Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister, T Srinivas Yadav today said that as a Sankranthi gift the government will offer sheep to the Golla Kurma community in the state in the second phase.
He held a meeting with officials and reviewed the Sheep scheme benefiting the poor Golla Kurma community and help them empower. The second phase will be started at Nalgonda on Jan 16 the minister said.
He informed that 30000 people of this community offered DDs for the purpose. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has a kind heart to help this community by spending adequate funds. As per KCR directions the sheep to be given to them on a priority basis.
The minister said that the second phase of sheep distribution will be taken up soon among the beneficiaries. About Rs 360 to be spent for this phase to give sheep among the beneficiaries, the minister said. Our target is to give 7.61 lakh sheep and so far given 76.93 lakhs to the beneficiaries he informed.
As part of empowering this poor community, we have created the wealthy of 2 cr sheep he claimed.
