5 arrested in Old City for stealing goats during Bakri Eid

According to the latest reports, the Chandrayangutta police took four people into custody for allegedly stealing goats a day before Bakri Eid. It was reported that a judicial remand of 14 days was imposed on the accused.

The police said that a five-member gang consisting of Mohammed Basheer, a resident of Noori Nagar, Bandlaguda, and his four accomplices, Syed Ameer, Syed Azizullah Hashmi, Syed Nadeemuddin, and Mohsin Khan stole 23 goats from a house at Noori Nagar for Bakrid on July 2.

An auto had been used to move the goats, which were stolen away by the five-member gang. It was reported that the goats were later sold to customers in Mahabubnagar’s Pebbar area.

With the help of CCTVs and human intelligence, the police arrested the accused and shifted them to Chanchalguda central prison.

Two arrested for robbing a man

The Mangalhat police caught two people on Tuesday for allegedly robbing a man of Rs 8000. The accused approached the victim, claiming to be looking for directions.

The incident occurred while the victim, Mohammed Shazad, was heading home after withdrawing money from an ATM. The two accused had approached him and asked for directions to the Dhoolpet area.

The accused, identified as Bommenna Srikar and Vagmera Vijay Kumar, asked Shahzad to accompany them so he could properly direct them to the location. Srikar and Kumar diverted the victim’s attention and whisked the cash away after he agreed to guide them.

When Shehzad realized that the money had gone missing, he went to the Mangalhat police station and filed a report.

The police filed a report based on Shahzad’s complaint. Soon after, an investigation was launched, and the two accused were taken into custody under IPC sections 420 and 379 for cheating and theft.
