6 Killed in a Car Accident Near Hyderabad

Hyderabad: 6 individuals from the same family were killed and 5 were injured when a vehicle in which they were traveling crashed head-on with a borewell lorry in Telangana’s Rangareddy area on Wednesday, police stated.

The accident happened close to the Malkapur Gate in Chevella mandal on the Hyderabad-Bijapur highway, around 50 km from Hyderabad.

As indicated by police, all the victims belonged to a family from the Tadbun region of Hyderabad. They were headed to Gurmitkal in Karnataka.

Police said the Innova vehicle in which 11 individuals from the same family were traveling attempted to overtake a vehicle, however, in the process, collided with a borewell vehicle coming from the other way.

Police arrived at the location to extricate the bodies from the badly damaged vehicle and move the injured to hospital.

The deceased were identified as Asif Khan (50), Nazia Begum (45), Sania (18), Arsha (28), Nazia Banu (36) and a 6-year-old girl.  Five others, including Syed Ali, Begum, Anwar Khan and Nausheer, besides an infant, sustained injuries.

Five others were injured and they were taken to a hospital in Hyderabad for treatment. The bodies were taken to a government hospital in Chevella for post-autopsy.

The accident prompted a two km long traffic jam on the Hyderabad-Bijapur highway. Police later removed the debris to clear the way.

Chevella inspector of police Balakrishna told reporters that two of the injured, Syed Ali and Begum, whose condition is critical, have been moved to a private hospital in Hyderabad and the remaining two are being treated at Chevella government hospital

As per police, the family from Hyderabad was headed to Gurmitkal for treatment of Nazia Begum who had suffered a paralytic stroke.

A police officer said that over speed and the fog might have led to the collision.
